Meghan Markle’s sister has slammed the Duchess and the rest of the royal family for not postponing the royal wedding for their father.
Samantha, who changed her surname from Grant to Markle, has penned a book about her royal half-sister, The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister: A Memoir, Part One.
Meghan hasn’t seen Samantha in years and is reportedly not in contact with her.
However, Samantha, who lives in Florida, says Meghan should have delayed her wedding to Prince Harry so Thomas, who was unwell, could attend.
The 2018 celebration was a massive national occasion, which took months to plan and co-ordinate and involved a large and costly security operation.
There were hundreds of guests, many of whom had flown in from overseas, and 2,640 members of the public were also invited.
In the book, which was released earlier this week, Samantha writes: “The Royals couldn’t postpone the wedding so that my father could be included, and I knew it was not unreasonable that they reschedule, given resources available to make that happen.”
In her 272-page book, Samantha defends herself and their father, Thomas and saying the “truth is stranger than fiction”.
The book contains chapters titled Markle Beginnings, When Grandma Said the N Word, The Queen Would be Appalled and Looking For Mr Right The Wrong Way.
Among the things she discusses in the book is her decision to help their dad, Thomas, set up staged paparazzi photos in the lead up to the royal wedding.
She explains that they agreed as they wanted to “show him in a true light” as other members of the press had “been so disparaging, intentionally”.
She also claims she got no money for the deal.
According to extracts of the book seen by Newsweek, she writes: “It was just allowing the Royals and the world to see him in his proper light, because he was so horribly labeled and photographed.
“It was like watching vultures feast. The photographer said, ‘Don’t worry, I will take good care of your dad, and nobody will even see.'”
She claims that she chocked when she saw their plan had been rumbled, saying they felt they had been “baited”.
Samantha first announced her book several years ago, but it’s only just been released.
There were reports that Meghan burst into tears when she heard about her sister’s plans.
In 2019 the Daily Mail reported that Meghan had told friends that she stopped reading interviews with members of her family after finding out about the first book two years ago and tries not to look at gossip about herself.
The friend is quoted as saying: “She cried when she found out about it.

“Out of everything that’s been said, the one thing that really upset her was that [the book]. She and Samantha never had a very good relationship and she feels her sister is using her position for profit.”
The back cover reads: “Things are not always as they seem, in a world where social labels and perceptions often define who we are, how we live, and how we view each other.
“With a B.A. in sociology, and an M.A. in counseling, Samantha never thought she would find herself caught in between the cross hairs of media mayhem, as she defends herself, and her father, by dispelling social labels, and “fake news”, when her sister marries a Duke, and a Royal fairy plummets from “the tea towels”.
“Samantha holds firmly to the belief that truth, family, and faith, triumph over all perceptions, ‘plots and ultimatums’. “The truth is stranger than fiction.”
